WALK AND TALK THERAPY
Do you love spending time outdoors? Does the idea of sitting face-to-face with a therapist feel overwhelming? Have you noticed that some of your best ideas or reflections happen while moving in nature? If so, Walk and Talk Therapy might be the perfect fit for you.

Walk and Talk Therapy combines the benefits of traditional counselling with the healing power of nature and movement. Whether you’re comfortable with traditional therapy or looking for an alternative, this approach offers a unique way to explore your thoughts while enjoying the outdoors.
Benefits
Grounding and Relaxation
Nature helps calm the nervous system, allowing you to feel grounded as you take in sights, sounds, and smells. Even the sound of birdsong can signal safety to your body.
Reduced Anxiety and Depression
Gentle exercise and being in nature release endorphins, improving mood and promoting a sense of well-being.

Mind-Body Connection
Walking in nature allows you to disconnect from distractions, reconnect with yourself, and become present in the moment.
Strengthened Therapeutic Relationship
Shared experiences, like noticing a tree or bird, can foster a deeper connection between you and your therapist.
What to Expect
Before your first session, we’ll choose a meeting spot along a quiet river or park trail in Saskatoon, prioritizing your comfort and privacy. We’ll plan a safe route for your 50-minute walk, ensuring we return to the starting point.
Confidentiality
While I’ll do my best to maintain your privacy, outdoor settings naturally offer less confidentiality than virtual sessions. We’ll discuss how to handle encounters with others before starting therapy.
Come Prepared
- Wear comfortable, supportive footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.
- In colder months, dress warmly with layers, hats, and ice cleats if necessary.
- In warmer months, wear breathable clothing, sunscreen, and bug repellant.
Safety
If you have health concerns, consult your doctor before starting therapy. Bring any necessary medications, such as an EpiPen, for allergies. In case of an emergency, I’ll provide first aid and contact 911 if needed.
Walk and Talk Therapy offers a welcoming, relaxed approach to healing, growth, and self-discovery. If this resonates with you, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey.
